When I travel, I try to visit as many of our members as possible.  In October, I had the opportunity to see the operation of Wireless Advanced Communications (WAC) in Evans, CO.  I was the guest of the Bellendir family and Marty McKinney, PCR Sales Manager at WAC.  I found that the folks at Wireless Advanced were talented at many things.  They maintain advanced systems like wide area P25 and consoles in dispatch centers throughout the state.  What was striking was when I was walking around the multi-acre complex was all the squad cars!

What I discovered was that WAC was awesome at outfitting public safety vehicles.  They remove and install radios, cages, lights, sirens, cameras, and push bumpers.  There were hundreds of cars at their facility!  They dominate in this business and have redesigned the process keeping the customer involved in every step. If needed, WAC will even manufacture custom mounts in the metal shop guaranteeing a satisfied customer. They have built a world class reputation on this specialty, and continuously analyze the process through their quality control department.  They frequently transport the cars via vehicle carrier as part of the contracted service.  Wireless Advanced also has an outfitting location in Albuquerque, NM.
Bill Dow, USMSS

On the FRCC/Motorola project call this afternoon, Brett Phipps of WAC confirmed that the 7.7 Upgrade was completed today. I want to thank the team from WAC and everyone else involved for the extraordinary efforts to complete this upgrade in short amount of time – thank you.
Neil Clatworthy, PMP, Sr. Program Manager

Please share with all of your team members our appreciation and gratitude for a job well done. I know the schedule and tasks that had to be completed were often difficult and never with as much time as we would have liked. I know the jump to 7.7 identified areas we will fine tune to help with our next jump to 7.11 beginning on Monday December 9th. Thank you all again!
Paul W Nelson, Project Manager

Thank you Wes, Dave, Bill and Wireless Advanced Communications for the new Voice Logger. I know it was a WAC team effort to get the project done and I really appreciate your time and effort!  WAC did great work here. Thanks again everyone! Bill Gordon, Hot Springs County Emergency Management Coordinator

I want to thank Motorola and WAC for preparing for and executing a very complicated and at times variable schedule with very few issues or incidents. WAC was well positioned to assist the new system as they have done for many years. There have been a lot of twists and turns, surprises (good and bad) but there has also been a lot of great teamwork and I want you all to know I appreciate it.  We overcame a lot of obstacles and never gave up. The feedback I have been getting from the field throughout has been very positive.
Wendall A. Reimer, Xcel Energy, Business Systems

Rick Bellendir and his crew are some the best I have seen in almost 35 years in dispatch. Thank you all for your hard work.
